Macro time at the Vinne in Zoutleeuw
by Philippe on May.18, 2012, under Day To Day
It’s been a while since I bought me the 100mm macro lens but until now, it didn’t really get used very often. (kinda an understatement)
So today I went to the Vinne in Zoutleeuw with only this lens to test it out. Everything was handheld, no flash, no fill-in-screen and lots and lots of wind !
To be honest, I’m quite amazed what kind of results this lens delivers. I’m very impressed with this lens and should used it much more.

Triatlon Geel 2012….
by Philippe on May.13, 2012, under Events
I went to the Triatlon Geel to document the event with my camera, but again I focused on the women. But this time I had an excuse ! A good friend of mine participated in the event and I went to support her mentally.
It’s kinda relaxing watching people suffer while enjoying the sun and occasionally taking a photo
In the album triatlon Geel 2012 you can find much more photos.

Original wedding photos…
by Philippe on May.12, 2012, under Day To Day
They probably thought “I want original wedding photos! Let’s go to the beguinage in Lier !”
I don’t really know if the “original” part was correct.

Argus Walk Lier
by Philippe on May.12, 2012, under Events, People
Me & a few other amateur photographers did the Argus Walk in Lier.
It was a good opportunity to try out 2 lenses : the canon 135mm F2 and the panasonic 20mm F1.7 pancake lens. I like the “dreamy” effect I get from the 135mm and I love the black&white photos with the 20mm. Both lenses put a big smile on my face and I have even another new toy to play with next week !
Example of the 135mm F2 :

Bee and blossem day
by Philippe on Apr.29, 2012, under Events
A good friend of mine organised (for www.rlzh.be) a bee and blossem day in Landen. There was something for everybody: you could go for walks, there were things to do for kids, you could learn about bees, …
It started with really awful weather, rain and gust of wind. Thankfully later the sun took the overhand and at the same time the people started arriving (more than 800 in total !). Finally the summer was here and I really enjoyed the walks and sitting with the sun on my face, taking pictures of the environment.

Workshop Fotofolio
by Philippe on Apr.21, 2012, under People
One of my New Year’s resolutions was “following a photography course”. So when I saw that one of the leading photogaphers in Belgium was giving workshops I took the opportunity. Main topic of the course was child/teen photography. Not something I often do to be honest. But the focus was also on using sunbounce equipment !
Last year I bought me a sunbounce (mini and micro mini) and I was struggling to get really good results from it. So end of march I went to the cold..windy ..rainy Belgium coast. I was disappointed in the weather but Tom (from fotofolio) was confident that even in really bad weather, we would see the benefits of the sunbounce. I have to admit, when I review the pictures I took that day, he was telling the truth.

Interested in following a course using sunbounce screens ? Checkout his website : www.createthatlightworkshops.be.

Rugby Club Leuven revisited…
by Philippe on Apr.11, 2012, under Events
After seeing the girls play, I was curious what the difference would be when the guys would play. It was even rougher than the girls.(which I expected/hoped)
The weather was great and it felt more like a holiday than just an afternoon watching rugby.
There were a lot of things to see : 2 great matches (but sadly no wins for Leuven), 4 great teams and a big crowd that came to support them.

In the album I try to give an impression of the game between RCL 2 – Brugge and the game between RCL 1 – Charleroi
Also in the album are a few pictures taken during the match of the activity around the field.
Rugby is not a sport for wimps
by Philippe on Mar.24, 2012, under Events
I’ve seen my first rugby match, a “girly” match. But nothing girly about how they played. Damn they were though and damn those tackles were sometimes very brutal. I should not repeat the things they shouted/said during the match when things got a bit tense. You ever seen those stickers on cd’s saying “contains adult language and themes completely inappropriate for children” ? Well this is a warning that should be given when visiting a women’s rugby match.

In the album I try to give an impression of the game between RCL Dames and Coq Mosan (which of course Leuven won).
At the end of the album you can find a few additional pictures of the future players of RCL.
An example of Liene…
by Philippe on Mar.10, 2012, under People
I’m still working on the photos but I really want to show a little example of lovely Liene.
Yes, just as the picture she is really sweet, lovely and very pretty. You gotta love Hasselt for all the pretty girls.
